Installation of temporary shoring walls to shore and protect the adjacent neighbors’ property. Eight foot deep vertical excavations were planned just a couple feet from property line. New basement walls are to provide permanent structural retainage while the driven beam shoring system provided temporary safe access for construction of the foundation walls and installation of footing drains.

McDowell NW Pile King installed 47 each W6x25 beams 20’ deep and 3’ on center. The beams were driven using a Pile King’s pin pile machine, inch and a half plywood sheeting was placed between the beams in lieu of traditional timber lagging. One major advantage to the driven beam system is the slim nature of this shoring system, just 6” in most cases, allows for maximum building footprint while providing safe access for construction and protection of neighboring property.
